Official Launching of Dashboard and Seminar: Preventing Violent Conflicts at a Juncture of Changing Global Politics

The inaugural launch of the Monitoring Center on Organised Violence Events (MOVE) Online Dashboard and Seminar: “Preventing Violent Conflicts at a Juncture of Changing Global Politics.”

 

 

 

explores MOVE online dashboard that allows users to filter, customize and visualize sets of data relevant to their interests based on the preliminary event-based data on 13 types of organised violence in Thailand from 2016 -2020. The source of our data is an archive of five national newspapers (Bangkok Post, KhaoSod, Thairath, Manager, Matichon).

 

 

 

examines MOVE’s preliminary data and the current works of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Thailand on Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE) or violent conflict prevention/mitigation agenda. In addition to the discussion on the future of PVE agenda at a juncture of renewed geopolitical conflicts and the globalisation of domestic identity-based conflicts at the turn of the 20th century.
